Meet Anthony P. Urbanek, DDS, MS, MD
TMJ Specialist in Brentwood, TN
Dr. Urbanek is a double-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He received his dental degree from Indiana University, a medical degree from Vanderbilt University, and a master’s degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology from Indiana University. Coincident with his studies, he was awarded a two-year research fellowship to study facial growth and development by the National Institutes of Dental and Craniofacial Research. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has been the leading authority in treating TMD in Tennessee communities for over 40 years.
Dr. Urbanek developed and designed the Urbanek TMJ device and protocol. During his long career in Middle Tennessee, he performed well over 5000 major facial reconstructive cases in addition to his busy office surgical caseload emphasizing the removal of impacted 3rd molars (Wisdom Teeth) and surgical placement of dental implants. He has now transitioned his practice to focus only on TMJ/TMD treatment using the Urbanek device and protocol.
Dr. Urbanek has been an aviator (private pilot) for over 50 years and a member of many aviation organizations including the past president of the Flying Physicians Association and has been certified by the FAA as an Aviation Medical Examiner. He is the founder of major medical clinics in both Haiti and Jamaica and is active in the Franklin Noon Rotary and Franklin Rodeo. Dr. Urbanek, along with his wife Ann, has three children and six grandchildren who thankfully all live within the boundaries of Williamson County.
